Ian Carmichael has seven years experience in the mortgage industry working first as a mortgage broker and currently as a mortgage banker. He was with a major retail bank in Austin prior to joining Envoy Mortgage. Ian has experience with conventional loans (backed by Fannie Mae and Fannie's little sister Freddie Mac), government loans (backed by the Federal Housing Administration a.k.a. FHA), Veteran's Administration (a.k.a. VA), and USDA (the United States Department of Agriculture - the guys that also inspect your meat quality before hitting the shelves at your favorite grocery store).

Speaking of your favorite grocery store, prior to switching careers to this fun and sometimes crazy industry he worked in an equally crazy industry--the grocery industry with HEB for 11.5 years. Ian "retired" from HEB at the ripe age of 28 years young. With all seriousness, it was his 11.5 years with HEB that helped build his character and further develop his tenacity.

Having worked in the grocery retail industry has ultimately helped Ian understand the important of customer service. This translates into the constant pursuit of providing timely communication with his prospects, clients, and Realtor and other strategic partners. The #1 complaint of the mortgage industry is lack of timely communication and follow-through and to that point Ian wants to be a "positive" difference maker and address this challenge head on. Ian obtained his Bachelors degree in Marketing from the University of Texas in 1998. Ian enjoys fishing, running, and spending time with his family.
